Prevention of bullying and harassment is a constant concern for school communities. The month of October provides an opportunity to raise awareness on the importance of everyone in the community taking a stand against bullying. Benton Community has been busy with a variety of activities and messages to address concerns regarding bullying.
Bullying is described as the abusive treatment that generally includes coercion or force affecting other persons. It may be in a form of physical assault, verbal harassment and many more. It is an intentional aggressive behavior that involves power imbalance. If you are being bullied, you will commonly suffer from insults and teases.
Of course, you will feel afraid, upset, embarrassed, anxious and ashamed as well. Bullying is categorized into three types – physical, verbal and emotional and it ranges from simple to complex bullying.
Bullying awareness is very essential because it is quite alarming and it exists because of several reasons. One of the reasons for bullying includes frustration. Impaired children are commonly resented and frustrated because of their complexity. Typical examples of these are dyslexia, allergy, deafness, left-handed and many more. Second, the child may bully others if there’s no role model of right conduct. Third, he might also be an abused child at home so, he may constantly bully others to express his anger. Lastly, bullying exists because of conduct disorder.
If your child is being bullied, you must completely identify the things you need to do in order to cope up with the situation. It is important to regular communicate with and monitor behavior of your child. Child bullying is said to be harmful if it is continuously ignored. Now, there are some ways in order to identify if your children are prone to bullies. Majority of the children who face bullying shows aggression to every family member. They also tell lies about the drop of their school grades. Identifying how to prevent child and school bullying is a must. If you’re not aware, your child might be in danger.
Child and school bullying is not easy to overcome. It is the reason why parents’ guidance is greatly needed. Constant monitoring in your child plays a great role in order to cope with this situation. Keep in mind that it is natural for a certain child to have some misunderstandings from their colleagues but constant bullying must be avoided.
