BC Annual Progress Report Approved by Board of Education

The Benton Community Board of Education has approved the Annual Progress Report for the 2011-12 school year and this report will be made available on the Benton website under the District Information link  The APR includes student achievement information based on the statewide Iowa Assessments, as well as information regarding attendance rates, graduation rates, drop-out rates, ACT scores, and other district related information.  Below is a sampling from the APR regarding student achievement results in grades 4, 8, 11 in reading.  Please note that this is trend information over several years of administering the Iowa Assessments, previously the ITBS and ITEDS.  In order to be considered proficient students must score above the 40th percentile nationally in the content area test. Benton Community students have performed quite well in terms of proficiency in comparison to the AEA 10 and statewide averages.    In a future update I will share math and science proficiency scores as well.
