Annual Progress Report - Annual Goals Update

As part of the APR process all school districts in Iowa are required to establish annual improvement goals in the curricular areas of reading, math, and science.  The results of these goals are then reported to the Department of Education and school community.   Below are the results for 2011-12 as reported in the APR brochure.

  • The District’s long-range goal in reading is that “all K-12 students will achieve at high levels in reading comprehension, prepared for success beyond high school”. The District’s Annual Reading Goal was met in 2011-12 as 85.6% of 5h graders were proficient in reading.

  • The District’s long-range goal in math is that “all K-12 students will achieve at high levels in math, prepared for success beyond high school”. The District’s Annual Math Goal was met in 2011-12 as 82.5% of 5th graders were proficient in math.

  • The District’s long-range goal in science is that “all K-12 students will achieve at high levels in science, prepared for success beyond high school”. The District’s Annual Science Goal was met in 2011-12 as 91.8% of 9th graders were proficient in science.
Note: The Iowa Department of Education has set the proficiency standard at 41% or higher based on national percentile norms on the Iowa Assessments.
