The Benton Community Board of Education has approved final specifications for the facility upgrades to student activity related areas at the MS/HS. The project will include significant improvements to the outdoor stadium area, the auditorium and fine arts wing, and the gymnasium. Shive-Hattery has provided a final cost opinion with a base component of $3,897,590 and alternates totalling $636,880.
Construction bids for this project will be opened on Tuesday, March 6th. The Board will meet in a special meeting on Monday, March 12th to award the construction bid. The District will fund this project through a sales tax bond. Bids will be received on the bond sale on Wednesday, March 7th and the Board will meet that same day in a special meeting to approve the bond sale.
It will be an exciting spring and summer on the MS/HS campus as this work proceeds with the goal of completion by the start of school in August!
