The regular monthly meeting of the Benton Community School Board will be held on Wednesday, February 15th starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Media Center at the MS/HS. The meeting time was moved to 5:30 p.m. in an effort to not conflict with the regional girls basketball game at Benton starting at 7:00 p.m.
The Board will consider several action items dealing with the activity program infrastructure project including the final specifications and preparing for the bond sale in early March. The Board will also consider approving a resolution to call due the bonds on the 2003 project at the MS/HS. The District intends to pay-off the principal on this project this spring and in so doing save the school district approximately $600,000 in interest payments.
The Board will also consider purchasing a school bus for the 2012-13 school year as well as three vans for the school fleet. In addition, the Board will consider adopting the school calendar for the 2012-13 school year.
