After a rather remarkable run of wonderful weather in November, December, and the first 10 days of the New Year, we finally experiences some winter weather on Thursday. This is a good time to remind parents and patrons that the first call regarding a delay or early dismissal is always the Bobcat Voicelink (830-2164 or 515-830-2164 if calling by cell phone). In addition, the District does contact KCRG, KWWL, and KGAN with announcements. The District also communicates via the Iowa School Alerts notification system. You can sign up for this on the homepage of our Benton website. If there is a dismissal that takes place once students have already arrived for the day, the District will also contact parents through the School Reach notification system with a phone call placed via a web-based service. There will likely be a delay as you answer these calls from the school and then you will hear a recorded school related message.
In closing this week a special congratulations is in order to the Lady Bobcat Basketball team on their Number 1 rating in Class 3A this week and to Madison Weekly for being the Channel 9 Athlete of the Week. Best wishes as you continue through a very successful season!
