Iowa Sports Spotlight Releases All State Softball Team

The Iowa Sports Spotlight has released their 2014 Iowa high school softball all-state teams in all five classes. The teams are based on the regular season play only including Player, Pitcher and Coach of the Year in each class. Congratulations to three members of the Lady Bobcat softball team for being selected to the Class 3A All-State First Team:
Amber Fiser, Pitcher, Sophomore

Lea Brunssen, Infield, Sophomore

Alyssa Wiebel, Infield, Sophomore

Also in Class 3A, the Player of the Year honor goes to Alyssa Wiebel. Alyssa was among the leaders in all the major hitting categories in 3A. Alyssa was ninth in batting average (.529), was second in hits (73), third in doubles (17), second in home runs (14) and fourth in runs batted in (53). Wiebel also was 20 for 20 in stolen bases and was tied for seventh with 50 runs scored.
