The Iowa Association of School Boards will hold their 70th Annual Convention at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines on November 18-19. The IASB Delegate Assembly meets on Wednesday morning and Theresa Ludeking will be representing the Benton Community Board of Directors. The Benton Community Board will be represented at the conference this year by Theresa Ludeking, Theresa Thompson, Shannon Feuerbach, and Wayne Reinhardt.
About 1200 school board members and superintendents from across Iowa will be attending the Iowa Association of School Boards state convention. The conference will feature several great keynote speakers including the the National Teacher of the Year in 2010, Sarah Brown-Wessling. The conference also provides a wide variety of break-out sessions as well as more specialized training opportunities on Wednesday dealing with school finance and building positive school cultures. Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds will be speaking at the convention on Thursday about the state of education in Iowa.
