We were very fortunate to have Iowa Supreme Court Justice Thomas Waterman visit Benton Community High School this morning. Justice Waterman met with a large group of high school students and staff in the MS/HS auditorium and shared information regarding his role and responsibilities as a Supreme Court Justice. Justice Waterman also fielded many questions from students and staff regarding his experiences. It was a very interesting opportunity for new and unique learning for our students.
Justice Waterman resides in Pleasant Valley and was appointed to the Iowa Supreme Court in 2011. Justice Waterman is married and has four daughters, including triplets who are seniors in high school this year. Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, Justice Waterman was in private practice in Davenport since 1984. His current term expires December 31, 2020.
Benton Community is very appreciative to Justice Waterman for taking time to visit with us this morning and for his service to the State of Iowa.
