School Board elections in Iowa will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. The Benton CSD has three board seats that will be determined in this year's fall election: Director District 4, Director District 5, and Director District 6. Below are key dates regarding the election process:
Monday, July 8
First day to file nomination papers with the board secretary.
Thursday, Aug. 1
Last day to file nomination papers. Deadline is 5 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 2
Nomination papers delivered to county auditor. Deadline is 5 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 6
Last day candidates may withdraw. Last day writtenobjections to nomination papers or eligibility of candidate may be filed.
Tuesday, Sept. 10
School Election Day. Polls will be open in Director Districts 4, 5, 6 from Noon until 8:00 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 13
Election canvass
Wednesday, September 18
Organization Meeting of the Board. It is the local board s first regular meeting following canvass.
