Department of Education Releases Graduation and Dropout Rate Report

Today the Iowa Department of Education releases the 2011-12 District graduation and dropout rate information for Iowa school districts.  Iowa continues to report 4 year and 5 year cohort graduation rates to reflect the work districts and schools put forth in helping all students earn diplomas.  The dropout window for a school year begins on certified enrollment count day (October 1, 2011) of that school year and ends on the day before certified enrollment count day (September 30, 2012).  Below is the information for Benton Community for the 2011-12 school year in comparison to the state average.

District Graduation Rates:
2012 class 4 year cohort graduation rate - 90.58%
2011 class 5 year cohort graduation rate - 94.07%

Statewide Graduation Rates:
2012 class 4 year cohort graduation rate - 89.26%
2011 class 5 year cohort graduation rate - 91.40%

District Dropout Rates:
Grade 7-12 dropout rate in 2011-12 - 0.81%
Grade 9-12 dropout rate in 2011-12 - 1.14%

Statewide Dropout Rates:
Grade 7-12 dropout rate in 2011-12 - 2.18%
Grade 9-12 dropout rate in 2011-12 - 3.20%
