Bobcat Stadium Dedication This Evening

On behalf of the Benton CSD, I want to invite students, parents, staff, and patrons to the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Bobcat Stadium Renovation Project and tonight's football games with Vinton-Shellsburg.  We are very excited to dedicate the project this evening and also to have KCRG 9.2 here to televise the opening football game of 2012 in our renovated stadium.

The stadium renovation project includes a new eight lane track, synthetic turf field to be used for multiple purposes including football, marching band, soccer, and track, new concession and restroom facilities, a storage building, handicap parking on the east side, and new entrances to the stadium. It also includes new lighting and sound systems as well as new bleachers. The District is paying for these improvements through a sales tax revenue bond approved by the Board of Education in March. The total bond sale amount was $5,820,000 and also includes the renovation of the auditorium and fine arts wing as well as new bleachers in the gymnasium. This project does not increase property taxes for patrons of the Benton Community School District.

It has been an amazing process observing this project taking shape since mid-April. In the end we certainly believe that the District will be very proud of the improvements and that the facilities will provide outstanding educational and extra-curricular opportunities for Benton Community students now and in the future.

Please consider joining in a celebration and supporting the Bobcats this evening!
