Alan Zimmerman is a nationally known motivational speaker and writer and each week shares his "Tuesday Tip" in an e-newsletter format. For today's post, I will summarize his thoughts for this week. The "tip" shared today: "Arrogance is a strange disease. It makes everyone sick except the person who has it". Mr. Zimmerman goes on to suggest four things that you can do so that you never become one of "those" difficult people.
1. Don't ever think you know it all... because the fact is...you don't.
2. Don't ever think your above hard work...because you aren't.
3. Don't ever think your better than others...because your not.
4. Don't ever make excuses for your performance...because you are responsible for what you do.
This seems like some pretty good advice to steer oneself away from the attribute of arrogance. He concluded his thoughts by providing a caution for speaking out by sharing a quote from Will Rogers:
"After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started to roar. He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him. The moral: When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut".
