This will be a very important week for the Benton Community Board of Education as they consider deciding on the scope of the infrastructure project for athletic and fine arts facilities at Benton Community. Official bids on the construction project will be opened on Tuesday, March 6th with the first bid opening at 2:30 p.m. and the 2nd bid opening at 3:30 p.m. The project scope has been divided into two bid components for exterior work and interior work. The Board of Education will meet in a work session at 5:30 p.m. at the Central Administration Office to discuss the amount to be considered for the bond sale for this project.
On Wednesday, March 7th bond sale bids will be received at 11:00 a.m. Piper Jaffray is assisting the school district in the sale of the bonds. The Board of Education will meet in a special meeting at 2:00 p.m. to consider the sale of the bonds for the project. This meeting will be held at the Central Administration Office.
The Board will also meet in a special meeting on Monday, March 12th at the Central Administration Office at 5:30 p.m. to consider the construction bids for the project. Shive-Hattery, Inc. is assisting the school district as the architectural firm of record for this project. The District plans to begin work on this project in mid-April with completion set for late August. It should be an exciting spring and summer on the MS/HS campus.
