Congratulations to the Lady Bobcat Cross Country team members Sophia Gilbert, Lauren Woeste, Hailee Ricklefs, Paige King, Shelby Hulsebus, Olivia Wilson, and Katelyn Buscher for qualifying for the State Cross Country Meet in Fort Dodge on Saturday, October 28th. In addition, congrats to Patrick Gorkow and Dylan Spina for qualifying individually by finishing in the top 15 runners at the state qualifying meet.
The Lady Bobcats have not qualified as a team for state since 2011 so this is a significant accomplishment in the rich history of Benton Community Cross Country under the direction of Coach Marty Thomae. The state meet is held at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge. The 3A Girls will run at 12:00 p.m. and the 3A Boys race is scheduled for 12:30. The Awards Ceremony for 3A is scheduled for 1:20 p.m. Best wishes to the Bobcats!
