Friday is Blue and Gold Day at Benton Community as we celebrate Homecoming 2017! The Homecoming Parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will be held on the drive surrounding the MS/HS complex. The Homecoming Pep Rally will be held in the gym following the parade.
Benton Community is celebrating the 52nd Homecoming in the history of the school district with the first Homecoming being held in 1966. Wendy Wardenburg was the homecoming queen and the Bobcats defeated Dysart 20-15 on the football field on that first homecoming. I remember my first Benton Community homecoming in 1985 when the Bobcats won the first of seven straight homecoming games with a 48-0 win over IC Regina. Susie Andresen and Steve Junge were crowned queen and king that year!
The Bobcats have won the last three homecoming football contests and we wish this year's team the very best on Friday evening! Best wishes to all of our students and activity programs working to make Benton's Homecoming festivities a special time for current students, alums, and the school community.
Benton Community is "a place to belong"! Go Bobcats!
