While the Iowa legislature contemplates action to change the Iowa Code language related to school start date, the Benton Board has moved to approve two calendars until this issue is resolved at the State Capitol.
One calendar aligns with current language and would result with a start date of Monday, August 31st. The other calendar would result in an August 24th start date. Both calendars will be posted on the Benton website. The preferred calendar based on a recommendation from the district calendar committee is the August 24th start date calendar.
