The purpose of this message is to provide additional
information to parents of PK-3 students for the 2015-16 School Year. On November 17, 2014 the Benton Community
Board of Education approved a restructuring plan for the elementary centers in
the school district. Beginning with the
2015-16 school year the District will have one PK-3 center in Atkins and one
PK-3 center in Keystone. The Board also
approved attendance boundaries for these centers as follows based on
established director districts:
PK-3
Atkins Center Director
Districts 1, 3, 4, 5
PK-3
Keystone Center Director Districts 2,
6, 7
In establishing the attendance center boundaries for PK-3
programming the Board also included a process whereby parents could request the
alternate attendance center based on an application process and reasons for the
request. The application form is now
available on the Benton Community website under the District Updates
section of the homepage with a link entitled “Request for PK-3 Attendance Center”. Application forms are also available at the
elementary centers upon request or one can be mailed to you if you contact the
Central Administration Office.
If you are interested in your child attending the alternate
PK-3 center the District requests that you complete the application form and
follow the directions provided for submitting the application. You
only need to complete an application if you are requesting that your child attend
the PK-3 attendance center outside the board approved attendance center based
on your director district of residence.
We are requesting that application forms be submitted for students
currently attending Benton Community no later than February 1, 2015. We are requesting that applications for
preschool programming be completed by March 1, 2015. You must complete an application for each
child that you are making a building request for and you will only have to
complete the application process one time per child.

The Benton Community Board of Education will consider requests for application at the February 18, 2015 and March 18, 2015 regular board meetings. Following board action, parents will be notified in writing of the decision regarding the application request.
